I was binge watching mini documentaries on youtube a while back, don't remember what the documentary was.  It was an old one though.  they basically said what the m-machine people said to you about the toe board panel causing soaked carpets up front. 

 

Luckily I have the part I cut out and I think it is a relatively easy patch to recreate, since the whole bottom joined edge is there.   Here are some pics of the piece I will try to recreate.  As far as the floor being 100% correct, mine is at least lacking just a bit according based on all the points of reference I took from my mini.  Yours might be more accurate because I noticed they did improve on the jacking point plates.  

 

this is the wheel well left side, hard to tell, but the part with the pointer is the return on the front edge of the floor/sill are and the overlapped panel above is just curved along the edge and doesn't mirror the floor panel return. Also, looks like it was just spotted all along the edge and if it wasn't seam sealed, I could see how the water got in.
