Hi peeps!

I'm converting from verto to preverto, do I need to buy the pressure plate seperate from the diafragm?

Or do they come 'paired'? As it looks that there is already a plate attached here on this ebay add?

http://www.benl.ebay...=item1c1b1ad534

(will buy from minispares so if anyone bought there recently... or if simon is online and reading this.. :D )

Cheers!

Dusty, you'll need all these items (some I know you already have on your list);-

Flywheel

Backing Plate

Lock Plate - Flywheel to Crank

Flywheel Bolt (goes in to crankshaft) (can someone confirm on this?)

Flywheel Drive Straps (6 in all)

Flywheel to Strap Bolts (3 in all)

Lock Tabs for above (3 in all) -  I prefer loctite

Backing Plate to Strap Bolts (3 in all)

3/8 Internal Star Washer (3 in all)

Pre-Verto Clutch Kit, which includes;-

    Clutch Plate (pre-verto)

    Diaphragm

    Clutch Release Bearing

Plunger (Pre-verto)

Clutch Over-thrown Nut (screws on the above)

Lock-nut for above

Clutch Arm (Pre-verto)

Clutch Return Spring

Clutch Return Spring Anchor (goes on Arm)

Small Clevis Pin - goes in top of Arm and also retains above

Large Clevis Pin - goes through Clutch Cover and Clutch Arm

Clutch slave Cylinder Hose (pre-verto)

I think that covers it.

In respect of the Orange Diaphragm, I'd suggest a Blue one would be fine for your engine, I use them in street engines up to around the 105 HP Mark without an issue, going to a heavier one only loads up the crank thrusts more.

Apparently you can use your Verto Slave Cylinder.

Thanks!

Would be a Nice saving to retain the verto slave!
How Many drive straps do you advise? 6 is standard i think? Trying to cut the costs a bit :P
Oh, and do you know about a pre verto clutch being used with a verto arm? Have heard some stories here in a local club about some cars comming like that, though no one could verify this :P
Many thanks!

Dusky, I would stick with 6 straps but make sure they are all matched.

When you buy them new, are they matched? Or do i need to machine /file them for any clearance orso? :)

If you get 6 new straps from the same supplier they should all be the same.

Easy to check, use one of the clutch backplate retaining bolts, and fit the 6 straps over the shoulder portion. Line all of the straps up together, and using a second backplate bolt try pushing this through the second strap hole. The shoulder portion should slip through the second hole on all of the straps if the distance between the holes is the same for all 6 straps.

As Carbon said, the straps usually are pretty good, but YES check them.

Can one of you guys confirm if a different flywheel bolt is needed?  I know from production, the vertos had a different bolt, what's the difference between them?

Also, just be aware that some of the lightened Flywheels need additional spacers to go between the Flywheel and the Drive Straps. You'd have to measure what's needed but if they are not supplied with the flywheel, they are usually 4 to 6 mm in thickness for a guide. Some of the flywheels already come with them.

Im wondered about the bolt too, as Im using loctite anyway :)
If someone could confirm anything about this it would be great! ;)

Will have a good look into the drive straps, ik all new to this so give me some credit xd

Im changing because of the ease to get a lightened flywheel for it, im only going to road light from minispares though, not the ultra super deluxe feather weight :)
Cheers
