Not really done much to this apart from drive and enjoy it! Did a pre season oil change (exciting I know :D), took it to the Pride of Longbridge show last sunday in Brum, and went to the sunday scramble at Bicester heritage this sunday just gone. Had brilliant weather for both days and I'm totally in love with it atm  Yea its soppy but driving it is such a blast! Have had a couple issues however, after some traffic light grand prix with a porsche on the way to the scramble I heard something fly off the car and the fan belt started squealing in the queue. Had a look at the show and the top alternator bolt's nut had rattled off and the top bolt mostly fallen out, bodged it with tape and popped into work on the way home to put a nyloc on it  Also with my mot looming I thought I'd have a go at sorting last year advisory of play in the drivers front wheel. I changed the bearing with no change, had a closer inspection and found that the threads where the steering arm bolts to the hub had pretty much stripped and the arm was wobbling around like pr*ck in a sock  :teehee: New hub on today, play has vanished, I'm hoping it will fix the wheel wobble I have too. Theres fast show this weekend so I think I need to put the omex in finally...

That's crazy how the threads stripped like that. How did that happen? I'd imagine given the type of load its under, it'd shear at the bolt head first.

Thanks mate  :shy: I think so, not sure if he was committed but we both certainly went for it off the lights, he got a good view of the 850 badge  :P

Its all to do with when I crashed it a couple years back bud, it bent that steering arm really badly and I snapped one of the bolts off trying to remove it, and then an easy out in the remains, so I drilled and tapped (to a metric size) it but I think the threads worked against each other and pulled out, and the movement of the arm has damaged the other bolt, I should of bought a new hub back then!

Been using and abusing this lately  :shifty: Did fast show at Pod a few weeks back, L2B last weekend and mod nats this weekend just gone, I know I've said it before but I enjoy driving it a hell of a lot, its nice to just drive it and not have to work on it, now that its 'done'. Though I've got a rx7 to waste m time and money on now  I still have got a massive hankering for a mini pick up however... Also had to get it through it MOT before L2B, of course it failed first time round, not on anything big, just dust covers, exhaust too loud, headlight aim, handbrake, also made me get rid of my old boy garage windscreen sticker which was gutting, passed 2nd time round though, though he said the exhaust was still noisy!

Not much to report, its not come out of the garage for a month or so! Did give it a drive the other night though, forget how fun it is.. Tried on some bits I had laying around, 10x8 steels and a boot extension  :D Also bought a Maestro van, which is an absolute sh***box, feeling a bit stupid about that. MITP is the next show I think, and then retro rides, cant wait
