Thought it was about time I started a thread - I've had the car about 18 months and not touched it yet!

Here it is as I got it

Brought some wheels

Some mk2 rear lights

Test. Polished a wheel

Brought some panels

Made access on the car a little easier

One oversill

What remains underneath

Most of it cut out, rust treated and started cleaning it up

This is the reason it took so long

Got a few things planned that are a bit different to the norm (hopefully), will reveal them as I get to them.

Good choice on engine and front, goes well and better choice for final drive and gearing (important)

So not too much work needed then...

Whats the plans or is all top secret  :D

Mk2 is too mint! I had two mk1's both supersports, one black red stripe then got a red with a black stripe from a work colleague, then bought my sisters mk2 popular plus and it pretty much fell apart a couple of days later (never buy from siblings!)  :shifty:

Lovely example there

Cheers! Nothing secret really, I'm taking a lot of inspiration from the VAG boys - smoothed bay, lots of little touches that won't be too obvious, lot of smoothing and generally making it look cleaner. D series helps with room in the bay, it's the wife's car so she doesn't want ridiculous amounts of power anyway.

Hi

Here`s my D series conversion

Believe me, if you want the fuel injection , there ain`t a lot of room. As for "not too much power" This makes it`s power very low down and then kicks in the v-tec. Very nippy indeed

When I got mine, it was running susuki 750 carbs and a carb dizzy. I have still got it all in the shed somewhere. Also have the one off manifold too. Interested?

How much for the dizzy on it's own and both together?

Hi

You can have the dizzy for £20. If you want the carbs, manifold and dizzy then its £50. All plus postage though.

Now that's a good deal I think.

It'll be home made. I think your only options are mini-tec or modify an allspeed frame to fit.

always liked the idea of a d-series. surprisingly quick engines. The only thing thats put me off is not being able to make a subframe :(

look forward to seeing updates !
