A lot also depends on how much stuff you have on your computer.
When i upgraded mine, i had only just installed a new hard drive in preparation as mine was starting to fail so all it had was a fresh install of Windows 7 and the device drivers

Well that was pretty painless, took about an hour and no obvious problems so far. Glad to see the back of the stupid metro tile look and a return (nearly) to the more traditional start/programme menu.
Couple of annoying thing, it would have been nice if it could have remembered which tiles I do use most frequently instead of putting a series of random tiles at the top of the start bar list. Its also lost some of my location/app settings which I have had to restore, plus typical Microsoft, never one to miss an opportunity to reset my default web browser to Internet explorer without bothering to ask.
Still overall, seems to be an improvement.
