Disaster.....

13015659_10156994762685647_2967755405886

Front cones collapsed when driving it out of garage. So its a full strip down.....cant use the cone compressor as there is no centre hole in the bulkhead for the tool, just two holes to access the subframe bolts (twin bolt early frame).

So got it all stripped down this morning, awaiting some parts for refitting.

Decided to sort a minor blow on exhaust.

Swapped the seats around so they fit better, also had to tighten the seat mechanisms and frames.

Fitted pedal rubbers.

Secured rear seat.

Checked all electrics, had to rewire a dodgy headlight wire.

Nipped afew things up, secured some cables etc.

Adjusted passenger door as the cable release had play and wasnt great. Working better now.

Found steering gaiter split when stripping down suspension.

Also noticed a outer cv split, looked fresh so wonder if its split when ive split the hubs from the top arm and let it "rest".

Minispares order in and will fit them tuesday, mot booked for wednesday!

Boom, minispares saves the day.

CV Boot, Steering Gaiter, Top arm bump stops, hi low kit, knuckles and so on.

Just need to torque the front hub nuts, wheel nuts, fit bonnet pins and its done (well maybe a quick grease of nipples).

Fingers crossed for mot time.

Yup, well failed first time due to imbalance on rear brakes. Quick adjustment and back for retest, all done, no advisories.

No rust to worry about :D lol

I really like it but Apparently 2 cars when we both walk to work is sufficient.

Finally got the tyre valves changed.

Old ones had metal covers and metal caps which has siezed on. Trying to undo them would turn the rubber part, so in the end resorted to a tyre shop breaking the bead and fitted new valves.
