Good week this week, spent most of my lunch times up on the mini doing the final body prep. Sunday got the last bits toughed up ready for primer.

Spent a little time cleaning up and put the last of the stone chip on the front foot wells to tidy them up.

Eldest set to the bonnet, strangely it had been blasted around the edges and down the middle. Between rain showers he attacked it with the sander which was not the most interesting job but he amused him self.

They got worse but it did get cleaned, a little rust eater before a light etch primer. there is a little dent which will fill, under side needs cleaning and keying before paint but not a long job.

Just the doors to prep and be ready for Primer.

Stripped the doors of all there furniture ready to clean up and prep.

Glass is covered in over spray on the outside and tint film on the inside but all the gaskets are there and in good condition.

The rear doors had the number plate mounted on them with a D over light.

Do I keep this set up or weld up and fit between the bumpers?

stripped the rear hinges and retainers.

Bit of a mess but serviceable, cleaned up the bass balls and replaced all the fixings with stainless steal.

Only need to replace the old springs.

Some progress on primer today. Got the bodywork finished in three coats only to discover that the rear passenger 1/4 panel needs some filler.
Run out of primer so some time until I spray final colour.

Well got to throw some paint at it this weekend.

Interior black that was put on a few weeks back and I am pretty happy with the result. Its a complete pain to get to all the interior but mission accomplished.

First job mask it up again! I did invest in some proper masking paper which made it a lot easier. Note Grumpy inspecting my sons and mine masking.

Then for the Yellow!!

and more Yellow

All was going well until I got the passenger rear quarter and then the rear doors. I had used some different primer for these I thought it was the same but as soon as the yellow hit it it pickled all over.

More work and some isolator me thinks.

Still cannot get the paint to take an the rear quarter. It will have to go back to primer but later. Still have to paint the roof so will do that next year.
Bored now so I am going to get the front subframe together and do some mechanical done.

Hope you managed to sort the paint out, as for your previous post, i think the number plate between the bumpers always looks nicer...
