Wow! Seriously impressive work with the gear selector! Looks better than new. I recently got a refurbished/rebuilt unit as well and I'm looking forward to getting it fitted and seeing the difference in the gear change.

Hi there  MINI fans.
The little $$ time €€ have delayed the restoration but they have not stopped it so I show the last photos:

2hn2umf.jpg

Clutch pump already with the repair kit.
The brake pump has also been restored but I had a problem in the repair kit (I damaged it when mounting) and I have to buy another one;

mw5r1z.jpg
214s84p.jpg

Tunel removed and ready for recovery;
On the side to start working on the outer casing which was left out despite not having photos, and as expected a lot of dirt and light rust.

I started to work on the engine to give it a general overhaul and to paint before working and to get to know my MINI heart better

nb7vo8.jpg
2rndmgz.jpg

Now a little help. I want to know better the engine of my Clubman and noticed that the engine has several numbers and I would like to know how to interpret them for what I ask for your help:

29ohop1.jpg
dcg8rp.jpg
2d018is.jpg
2ljtagm.jpg

That is:
A- (symbol letter "L")
B- engine behind (J5177)
C- engine behind (WFM 1026)
D- engine head (24H2)
E- engine block (98H962P 172838)
F - engineblock (28D2 DV)

Thank you in advance for your help and for following this restoration.

Nice car there! 😁

A is for Leyland (British Leyland)

I'll let other more experienced people answer the rest... 🙄
