Excellent work. I've got a focus with this engine in and it genuinely pulls. It can be easily chipped to 140bhp too. You'll poo your pants my friend, will be epic.

Just read through this on TurboMinis. When I first saw the little Ecoboost engines I thought they would be good for a mini. I have nowhere near the skills or the money to be able to do something like this though.

Nice work. Hopefully, I'll remember to check back there regularly.

so I've been a bit slack with the updates due to work and bits, so recently the loom turned up from specialist components along with their GDI4 ECU well happy with the loom etcDSC_0520_zpsm00gilxp.jpg

so ive sent a bit of time getting the relay and fuse boxes wired in, got everything powered up, just trying to  wire up the throttle pedal properly tomorow then it should be ready to see if it runs.

DSC_0503_zpsxmkbrmcb.jpgHere the fuel tank we made its baffled and filled with foam to avoid fuel surge etc, absolutely gutted i forgot to take photos of it before it was welded, but its slighty larger that the std estate tank but fits in the std location..

prior to this we mocked up the intercooler pipework and intake pipe....

now the intake pipe

thanks again to nigel with his welding on theseDSC_0417_zpsbkwmvcdp.jpgDSC_0421_zps1l5xfayk.jpg

then...DSC_0460_zpsexhbdecl.jpg

then last of all i got the coolant pipes made and tacked in place then mounted the water pump and expansion tankDSC_0516_zpsfwal0ptn.jpgDSC_0518_zpsqbu3qjuf.jpg

hoping to try and get it running this weekend

That's an epic squeeze in, shame the intercooler could not fit out of sight. Loving the build though.

i did try but just would not have been efficient enough and looked a little weird and it hit the alternator photos to follow

That's one busy engine bay!  Kinda reminds me of the Fiat Coupe, quoted in one of the manuals as "the engine bay from hell" though yours can't be as bad as those, nothing can! :D  I'm really interested in finding out what this motor is like to go.  :highfive:
