In the future I may try to get a kit put together or somthing similar... but I would really like to prove mine first

But then again I would also love to have it mid engined with a sequential box would be so much fun , but that's a dream

I'm interested in the kit too.  150bhp and 150 ft/lbs with 50 mpg sounds like my kind of thing.

What RPM are you turning on the highway, say at 70 mph?

It is good news that it is running well. I think that it may become the most useful engine conversion that the Mini has ever had.

I would be interested in a kit of parts at some stage, if one was to go into production.

I would think that one more thing might be needed, a lower final drive ratio, to make it just perfect for long distance touring

Currently a bit on the high side at 3300-3400 ish I think but it seems very happy there would sit there all day I think

I have been looking into it i think quaife do a lsd, and potentially a final drive. The gears are quite short but then so is any conversion the gearings always out, however it is very tractable and drivable like it is

£1200 for a 'nearly new' engine. Hmmm...  I'll be interested in a kit :-)

£1200?  I looked on eBay and there were low mileage engines complete with all the bits for £500.

I think these are probably going to be too tall for my Minus, otherwise I was going to give it a whirl when I've finished converting my loft.  I'm sure there'll be something similar that's a bit shorter out there though.  Maybe I should stick the head through the bonnet perhaps.
