I THINK it is 7/16" UNC, I'll check it today and get back to you.

It seems to actually be 5/16" unc, but I'd get a nut that size and check if I were you.

Any engineer worth their stripes could do that for you. If you get them to flat the ball off where they drill it then you can use a flangenut underneath to lock the ball on. I think that a pool ball should hold a thread. Or you might well find some already drilled on the net somewhere. Look at American Hot Rodder sites, they sell loads of cool stuff.

I made a 8-ball gear knob once, and i might be making another one for my current mini, all i did was drilled a hole, and threaded it, it held the thread alright, but cracked about a year after!!!!! it was on a stock car tho, and did get seriously punished and i did overtighten it!! so you could either do something similar to what they have done, which would be very simple, or just thread a hole!!!

The problem is finding an 8 ball tho!! could nick one from ur local pub!!

To find the thread size you could take ur gear knob into a DIY store, and find the correct size thread. or try it against other bolts and that, then just use the tap n die set accordingly!

Rich.
