Hi,

So, I think I've somehow blown my AMP. The system was melting fuse holders, and after a bit of research I found it was because the sub was drawing more power than can be supplied due to only have 8AWG cable. I've now put 4AWG cable in, and whilst setting everything up, my AMP has protected itself and wont come back to life.

Below is my boot,

I'm running the Edge 10" sub bridged (or rather, was), and a set of Edge 6 x 9's under the rear seats

Should I get a monoblock for the sub, and a separate 2 channel AMP for the 6 x 9's, and if so, what suggestions do people have? Or, another 4 channel AMP?

Thank you in advance.

Have you checked the fuse on the amp itself?

Just take it easy when fiddling with the amp in protect mode. Mine did a similar thing (also because of poor cabling) and after some fiddling I managed to catch the amp on fire.

Still to this day don't know what went wrong but I suspect it was a bad ground.

Make sure your ground cable is as thick as the power from the battery and it has a clean surface that it is properly mounted against. I would personally make sure it a ground point of the car somewhere - there should be one by one of the tail lights in the mini.

Ideally you want to get it out of protect mode outside the car to prevent damage to any other of the items nearby.
