great job - of course now that the body is looking so good you'll have to renovate everything you bolt back on to it to the same standard! The biggest difference I made was getting all the zinc plated parts re-done.cemRbYp.jpg

Thanks, The gun is a devilbiss SRI pro with 1.2 tip and transtec cap. It works very well. Best money spent as was getting fed up with cheaper ones,

As for all the items to go back on I have obtained a lot of nos parts and will be using those along with refurbed original ones, so quite a way off finishing yet. Having parts plated is something I am yet to look into but will hopefully make a good batch of parts up and go get some quotes. Am hoping can be finished this year though.

Finally reached the stage of finishing the painting, needs a little more flatting and polishing but nothing below p4000 will be needed now, interior needs a good clean up due to dust and light overspray but from a small area I tested won’t take much effort,
Really pleased with it, not 100% perfect due to being a home paint job but will give the overall effect I want. Plenty more work to do but it feels good to get to this stage, won’t be taking the booth down until all polishing completed just in case any problems.

Not much of an update, but managed to finish flatting any polishing main shell, got it on axle stands and have started fitting a few items to it, still a long road ahead but at least I can see the effort now. Have plenty of parts to refurbish and fortunately have acquired a lot of new old stock parts to complete the build. Just the two pics for now, but will get some more the weekend

Your not the only one, I can’t wait to see it back on the road. It will never be concourse standard as I am using many old parts to keep it period correct, I am after a good condition useable spec. I don’t want it to look brand new.

I'd take good usable condition over concourse any day  =]

Then one headlight, need a seal for the other and minispares showing no stock, was lucky with buckets as found some nos original steel buckets

Then fitted pedal box and master cylinders along with refurbed loom and a few other parts,

Have a few more bits to sort out and refurb but pretty pleased with ones I have completed so far, hopefully get hydro pipes , main brake pipe and fuel pipe sorted so can get subframes fitted shortly, just seem to be struggling finding much spare time at the moment
Also have a problem with the windscreen wiper assembly as one of the wiper boxes is scrap, hopefully got one coming shortly so can get that all fitted.

Just read this whole build, top marks to you. Gives me inspiration to continue. I'd love to see this one day. Your colour choice is brilliant.

Not done much on the car lately as have been refurbishing parts, finally started fitting some to the car, windscreen wiper motor being one of the first, just have to keep at it now, although have had a few setbacks to keep me thinking

Amazing build. Nice to see what one can do at home!

Truly inspirational and looks like a high quality throughout the entire build.

Been ages since I updated, but the little jobs seem to take the longest, cold weather doesn’t help.
I have been busy blasting, derusting, rebuilding and replacing all the parts apart from engine unit so I can start putting the car back together, bought a few bits from bingley, but it’s getting more difficult to find some parts now, not much to add in pictures but been a lot of work to get this far, am hopeful it will start to come together now.
The engine and gearbox I will leave till last as it was rebuilt prior to coming off the road in 1998, so will strip it down but hopefully shouldn’t need any machining work.

Hydro units

Suspension and brake parts etc, box has column, rack and a few smaller parts in, managed to use nos headlamp buckets along with as many original parts I could find,

And a pic of how it stands awaiting assembly, don’t think I will make it for himley in may but will get it on road this year as long as no hidden issues.
