Interesting that you paint parts at different times.  I would be worried about being a different shade when you bolt it all together!!  It's coming together

I always do.

Not really enough room to get everything comfortably in at once.

 

I'm obviously using the same batch of paint so as long as I apply the same amount of coats using the same technique everytime, then it's all good.

 

Metallic and Pearls are better painted at the same time however with metallic, as long as the same technique is used, the results will be consistent.

I will be cutting and polishing the paint next week.

My booth is not in its prime anymore so I do tend to get the odd bit of dust in the paint that gets sucked in through the booth so they require gentle flatting back to remove them and then ill machine polish the whole car.

It's now going back together.

 

I built the bootlid back up

 

 

And started on the back end

 

 

 

I couldn't put the bootlid on as I realised that I missed the new hinge gaskets off of the order

It is beginning to look like my car again, only much, much better

 

Shame about the gaskets - I thought it was only me who did things like that!

Nope, not just you.

I only twigged when I started to look for them... Checked the invoice and realised that I hadn't ordered them.

They will be here tomorrow

The driver door is on and been built up

 

 

The front started going on

 

 

Re-assembled the bonnet

 

 

And fitted

 

 

Along with the passenger door

 

 

Chrome de-luxe trims

 

 

Boot lid and bumper on

 

 

 

Just the rear subframe to connect up, exhaust to fit a flat and polish and pop the wheels back on.

Wrapping things up now.

 

First, the correct wheels were refitted and then the trusty Churchill came out.

 

 

And up we go

 

 

And then I flatted and polished the paintwork and cleaned the car throughout

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once the brakes are bled and the waxing up is done, I can go for a test drive and then it's ready to go!
