I'll be removing my garage roof soon- to be replaced with an insulated version using coated steel sheets, thus the original concrete sheets will besurplus. Anyone want some sheeting?- ideally all of it!. the garage is approx 21` x 10.5` wide.

Obviously buyer collect; south manchester

You do know they will be ASBESTOS sheets

Please dont go smashing the sheets I know there is minimal fibres in them but there is still some. Undo/grind the bolts off and remove in one piece

I know they aren't asbestos as I bought them back in 1992. They're corrugated cement as opposed to corrugated asbestos cement- which i think was outlawed before `92.

Thanks for the concern and the advice though; luckily I know what i'm doing - I work in the petrochemical industry where asbestos legacy equipment can stil exist. i'll still be as careful as i can to avoid having to sweep up!

the next hard bit is convincing the council that they aren't asbestos so I can safely dispose them.

PS- i wouldn't have offered them on here had they been asbestos.

I fitted my steel sheets on top of the cement ones as the steel one need a layer underneath to stop condensation. Has been fitted for 15+ years and also acts as a good insulator

The cement sheets also were condensing-so I'm going with Plywood, plastic layer, insulation, another plastic layer, then the steel sheets.

I like your thinking mm;- I would have considered your idea except  now already have the materials. If I laid all these on top of the existing cement sheets the roof would probably be so high it'd block out the light in the garden!!

I have plywood inside, with rock wool insulation above this then a small airgap followed by plastisol sheet, have never had any condensation or damp in the garage at all, so I can agree its best way

I just flexacryl'd my roof sheets today and sealed all the gaps up inside with silicone. Once I know its water tight I will be suspending 25mm celotex between the beams. Then a lick of white paint on the walls and ceiling will be ok I hope.
