How do you know it was on that reg all along? I imagine its linked to the vin so it will show the info for the car currently on that plate plus the info going back regardless of what reg was on it during previous tests?

This site is great! Does anyone know if it's possible to get printed information like this from anywhere? kind of like old MOT certificates? When I bought my mini it only came with it's most recent MOT certificate so it would be great to have a bit more printed history for it if I ever chose to sell it on. I've Googled but can't find owt.

I've been doing all the ******* neighbours of mine that continually ******* off the 30 year old mini as being old, unreliable and should be replaced with a 'newer' car.

But then I don't have a 12 year old 147 diesel that's done over 95k and fails ever time on basic stuff like worn brakes, tyres close to illegal, lights, lack of washer fluid, wiper blades, exhaust blowing etc. And even if they are advisories, I wouldn't be driving around for the next year (or around 5k) with faded reg plates, both front tyres close to illegal and movement in both rear struts witch won't even be checked again till it fails its mot next year.

I think I'll be sticking with my slightly rusty, tatty, 31 year old mini that only done 70k and only fails an mot if it decides to throw a tantrum for having its underside poked and podded. Those interment faults that only show up on the drive to or during, but never before an mot.

This site was very useful when I went to buy my current Mini...

The last owner was astounded as to how I knew what it failed on and what advisories it got last MoT ;)

But there is 1 thing with that website... it seems my Mini has travelled 90K miles in the past 12 months when I know from the odometer its only done 2K in the past 12 months... currently on just over 45K miles :) and 21 years old...

I even got a comment of why am I driving around in an old banger like that....?

because I want to and its probably worth more than that 5 year old VW Passat derv is that your driving around in....

It's also good for checking up on cars you've previously owned or worked on.

One in particular I worked on a year or so back where the owner refused payment for work already done and advisory's, with the excuse that it would eat into his profits when he came to sell it.

So I'm glad to see that it failed on the battery being insecure, the illegal for age stick on black and silver number plates, a rubber fuel hose that was perished and leaking and several arrears on the chassis that needed welding.

I also quite like the advisory of underside covered in thick underseal/covered in rust. That will be because of instead of having me do the welding he preferred to 'cover up' the rot instead with underseal.
