Could you take a pic at 90° to this one and show me your closing panels on the rear valance / boot floor ?????

Please :-)

Pete.

Next time I'm in the garage I'll get a few photos. May not be the best help because they're magnum panels I got from a show a while back, and the fit was terrible, the closeouts were a mile out, had a lot of messing with them.

I know what you mean, this is why I would like to see how you got yours to fit, mine are horrendous, how MAGNUM can even release panels like this just amazes me, do they have no quality control whatsoever ?

My resolution this year is to have my mini back as a rolling shell with all welding complete. Given my lack of garage time/skill may be a tall order.

Hopefully this will be the resolution I manage to keep. Happy New Year

Well that never happened haha!

All the best

Back on the GT after our Christmas break. We had to make a couple of patches for the floor where the old slinging brackets used to be. Had to make em a little bigger because rust had formed under the heal board seam. passenger side was worst with holes, so we did this

Drivers side looks pretty much the same now, I was surprised how bad it was under the seams but the holes are gone now.

Hopefully it will be the right way up soon, need to get to the IMM in Bristol

Thanks for looking

Had a day on the GT today. I thought as R Kid is chief bender he could fabricate some steel to replace the section I had cut out of the toe board, and a great bit of bending he did. Unfortunately I'd give him some 0.9mm steel haha. Never mind the next piece in 1.2mm he did was better.

1jCdfEk.jpgSo we clamped it up and welded it in

IzplpqH.jpgI'll plug weld the front floor pan to the toe board when we roll it over tomorrow. Thought it would be better to weld through the thinner steel to the thicker stuff

We have lots of small welding jobs to do when it's back the right way up then it's front end time

Back on the GT again today. Plug welded the floor pan to the toe board and little bits of welding here and there. Didn't think to take pics till it was rolled back in the garage

At least it's the right way up again

Great progress mate, very envious as I've got a few things to complete before I get to work on my GT. Keep up the work and the post updates.

Get a bit of scrap steel and have a go. Your first welds will be crap but they get better, I'm only just getting the hang of it now

I had my GT in the garage for about 5 years before I touched it, life kind of got in the way. I only get about 5 hours a week on it so it feels painfully slow
