Hello!

Been a while since I've been on here!

Nothing much has happened recently, bought a 2005 MK2 Focus 1.6 ghia as a 'winter hack' and decided I needed a more economical car but still fun with character.

Looking at MG ZT's for a while they all seemed to be too far away, this came up on eBay less than 2 miles away from me, engine that I wanted and colour I wanted, so I bid, and won it for £620 :).

So far, I have fitted second hand centre caps, got all the filters for a service (including crankcase breather filter) beast takes 6.8 of oil!

Spent a good half an hour cleaning the front lights as they had faded quite badly.

Not much planned to be honest, maybe a rear spoiler?

What do you guys think....?

Nice ZT with the rare Black Oak dash!!!
You know Dave, (Lord Rover), then?
Seen your new ZT over on the 75/ZT Owners Club forum :

http://www.the75andz...ad.php?t=229068

Check your plenums, last thing you need is a moist ECU ;-)

The plenums are the same for both Mk1 & 2. My ZT-T is a facelift and is no different to a Mk1. I check and clean mine at least twice a year.
If you have a look around the 75/ZT forum, you'll find a modification to make it easier to check the plenums ;-)

Hope you enjoy your ZT, they are great cars, albeit with their little faults. But hey, we love Minis, so I guess we're used to that :-)

Go for it! Really good

Let off an air on bomb in the car today to get rid of the "previous owner smell" and on test driving it theres a knock coming from below, found out that it's the bottom engine mount - so will investigate further and replace if it has completely gone

Nice looking car. Did you decide on any other plans yet, other than the spoiler?

There is a really nice yellow ZT-T with full leather interior over on mg-rover.org, an absolute beauty of a car.

Enjoy it! I still look at these from time to time.

Loved the last few ztts I have had. Probably find the o-rings have gone on the intercooler which is an easy fix.

Get a fuel burning heater installed with a timer and enjoy getting into a pre heated car every morning

Great cars

Just replaced my bottom mount, chances are it's goosed. Managed to find a second hand poly bushed one on the 75/ZT forum but DMGRS have new ones

Good result, I check mine two or three times a year ;-) Worth having a look at your pollen filter while you're doing, chances are it's soaked. Next job, check/replace the PCV filter ;-)

Not much has gone on, been spending most of my money on the little MG (yes I have to specify little and big MG in the household now!)

I purchased a Rover tuning box which gives it approx 160bhp and a lot more torque (goes really well)

I also purchased MG7 rear lights and a MK1 boot spoiler.

Removed the cat and replaced for a universal sportier exhaust, sounds really nice almost like a V8 at low revs!

Looking good ;-)
I like the MG7 lights, shame they didn't make a tourer version because that is one mod I would do.
All you need now is a 'smiley' rear number plate ;-)

I've got an MGF as well as the ZTT and they're called Little MG and Big MG :-)
