The other thing to be aware of if having them printed is that some of the materials used such as PLA are slightly biodegradeable and will not have as long a life as you will want. Be sure to ask about what they can do, and pick a durable material. PLA works well in cheap printers and is useful for prototype parts, to check fit and appearance.
Every material has its own uses. Nothing is universally useful.
If you do succeed, you may find a few people wanting copies, but you will need to charge them more than they may wish to pay, to cover your costs.
The other alternative of injection moulding will cost you dearly for the tooling, not so much if you get it done somewhere like Indonesia, but still non-viable unless you want several tens of thousands.
There "may" be processes somewhere in between printing and injection moulding, such as cold casting of 2-part resins with silicone rubber moulds.
