You could use Sketchup but it's a steep old learning curve.  I've kinda got the hang of it after a year of playing with it.

Have you tried FDTS Lew?  Sue is very knowledgeable and I wouldn't be at all surprised if she had that part in stock. http://www.fdts-seatbelts.co.uk/

That miniature wheel is awesome! Could you make a ATS classic one I could buy? :P

I've got a Tamiya rc mini that could do with a new set of replica mini wheels...

Already had a guy asking about this who actually prints RC stuff, however the one I have made is far from strong enough.

I wouldn't mind if they were only for show to go with the body I painted (same as the real mini) that very rarely gets used.

Is anyone re-manufacturing the beltpark?  I desperately need one in black!  Please PM me if you know.  Thanks.

The other thing to be aware of if having them printed is that some of the materials used such as PLA are slightly biodegradeable and will not have as long a life as you will want. Be sure to ask about what they can do, and pick a durable material. PLA works well in cheap printers and is useful for prototype parts, to check fit and appearance.

Every material has its own uses. Nothing is universally useful.

If you do succeed, you may find a few people wanting copies, but you will need to charge them more than they may wish to pay, to cover your costs.

The other alternative of injection moulding will cost you dearly for the tooling, not so much if you get it done somewhere like Indonesia, but still non-viable unless you want several tens of thousands.

There "may" be processes somewhere in between printing and injection moulding, such as cold casting of 2-part resins with silicone rubber moulds.

I wish you every success, and please do let us know how things turn out, as this will help others.

My colleague has gotten a 3D printer for home use. It works quite well and I have, after many prototypes, produced some center caps for my Frogeye Cosmic wheels. I don't know the material but after vacation I will get all the info and post it here. I still have the drawing for the Beltpark so we will see how it goes. :)
