Recently bought my first mini, (picking it up Wednesday) and have got a double din Headunit sat at home. Has anybody got any pictures because im finding it difficult to find any on google. The car already has a single din, so all the wiring is present.
Thanks in advance :)

It'll be a squeeze fitting a double din in unless you're not using any extra gauges.  I've just had a Google and can't see anything other than something that hangs below the dash.

It's a very tight squeeze due to the angle of the bulkhead. The unit seems to protrude out up to an inch depending on which unit you're using but I wouldn't say that it's impossible to fit.

Been thinking about putting it in the centre console, but would be a little worried about the heater getting it a little too hot, and jamming all the wiring in. Will try a few different combinations in the dash. Appreciate the info guys, already finding this forum very useful :)

I'm thinking of fitting a double din too. Let me know how it works out for you.

Remove the heater? Can get a smaller version of eBay which work better

I've also found some slim frame double din media players that don't accept a physical disk but run off of an auxiliary source such as a USB,3.5mm jack or Ipod/IPhone/Ipad plug in.

I plan to custom mount a tablet such as the nexus 7 in my dash.

Finding so far that its going to be better to space the unit out from the dash a little. Going to angle it towards the drivers side so its easier to use too. Plus this stops the girlfriend from changing the music. Will post some pictures when i get further on with it.

Search for Alpine INE-W997D or X801D-U should fit without sticking out at the top
