Morning Guys...

I am trying to gain interest on a track day at 3 sisters in Wigan in Lancashire. I have spoken to 3 sisters this morning and talked about what we can do. Now before you ask this would be open to all classic minis (not sold on Bini's yet, depends on interest) The day would consist of (for those who wish) laps round the full circuit, Prizes for the fastest lap, Show and shine, autojumble of possible but generally a mini meet 'Up North' where you put your mini around a very good track

3 Sisters would have marshalls and medics at hand, have places to buy food and are very willing to work with us to make this an annual event.

I would try and get some involvement from local mini specialist and restoration company's and hopefully some donations for a raffle maybe.

Any input whether positive or negative would be appreciated

Mm one thing you would need to discuss with them is in what condition do the cars need to be.

could i turn up with my Sprint Mini? could a Busa powered Mini that is only half finished have a go?

or will it for cars with Tax and Test? (not so easy to check now).

Ps i will not be there.  but have been.

Brill idea!

I went there to watch a track day / drift day recently, very well run with good facilities.

Those cars needed to be fully road legal with an MOT - even the drift cars I believe! And the driver needed a full drivers licence.

I'll be chucking my Mini round 3 Sisters this Sunday as they're having a Time Attack / Track Day there....

by the way a car on the track doesn't need insurance or an MoT, no proper race cars have an MoT (except for Rally cars) and rarely have insurance ...

Plenty of conversion cars are chucked round tracks, as long as the driver feels safe to drive the vehicle and theres no danger to public whilst it is on track, there shouldnt be a problem with it... half finished or otherwise... As long as it goes and stops, thats all that would matter Id have thought. Plenty track cars are trailered to events.... Not 100% but dont think there are any scrutineers trackside either to say if they are able to take their car on track or not...

Just checked the most recents facebook posts, says nothing about an MOT and licence.

The one I went to at the end of August stated MOT and licience required, still does on the old adverts. Looks like they've eased up on the guidelines - my bad.

Have fun, it's a proper kart track!

It is a proper kart track but you can still get to around 80 on the back straight ;)  ;D

I'll keep an eye on this thread. Got a mate 'up north' that has a few minis. All ideal for a track day play.

I'll be happy just to get my Mini round in 1 piece LOL

Got to be better than my 'daily' which I took round a few weeks ago, even though I can drift it round the fast bits of the circuit LOL

I agree, I have been drifting here, its well run, lots of clubs go Scooby, evos, Toyota, skyline, Honda, and jap club all attend, you will need your licence, MOT ,and  a helmet as well. you can pay £5 for a passenger to ride with you, £20 for a race buy 3 races get third one free, when I went.

I would attend this no problem.

That's worth while if you live close enough, and even better if your car is track focused. I have seen a few minis here, 2 from Wrexham with red top 16vs in them, I was surprized how well they went beating a couple of BMW M3s E46 out there, I think its because its such a tight track. the bmw never had chance to stretch its legs. are you local to it?

I'm up for supporting this, not to sure about throwing my mini round as its not set up the track but would certainly show up in it

The main thing that worries me is that massive speed bump on the way in :-|
