Hi,

Fitted a new boot seal. Its the type that fits to the lip not the lid itself. I cannot close the boot. In fact I've pushed so hard I've put a small dent in my boot lid which has royally p****d me off. It shouldn't be that hard. I've tried it with the seal both ways around.

Any tips to getting this done?

Thanks,

Rod

Where did you buy the seal?
Could you remove the seal and place it in a bucket of hot/warm water to make the rubber supple then fit it quickly and shut the lid as it cools it will hold its shape.
Not sure if it would work but it is cold out at the moment, also it maybe a poor item that's why I asked where you bought it from

Its from Minispares so I would have thought it was ok.

Someone must have fitted this before. I've seen lots of things on here about them being hard to compress but not to the point of denting the panel and still can't get it shut surely?

I was thinking about the old bucket of water so I may try that tomorrow but I don't hold out much hope on it to be honest.

I've had the same issue as you're self I eventually got it shut left it for about 2 weeks then openned it and shaped the seal around ie back to front then it shut it's self perfectly :)
