Hi I recently brought a vtec mini it came with a dash 2 but I am struggling like mad to find out definitely how to get it working properly my auto electrician I trying to get info on it before he starts wiring the car up I have been in contact with race technology they say I need a ecu interface to make the dash work with the s60 dta but there are some outputs on the ecu I don't know if they will give the dash readings like oil pressure/water temp/revs ect any help will be great

I'm running one with an S40 pro but I'm pretty sure they can't be that different! You do need an interface cable that connects between the two items; on mine I'm pretty sure its just 2 wires. The outputs from the ECU to the Dash2 will depend on what sensors the engine has and if these have been wired to the ecu. You can get additional sensors for anything that isn't supported by the engine as standard. The only additional ones you will need are a wheel speed sensor for the speed input and potentially a pull up resistor to get the correct fuel reading; this will depend on what fuel sender you are using though.

Thanks mate I have got the s60 pro I haven't got a tank with a sender in it so I don't need to worry about that do you get your oil pressure and water temp up from the ecu or do I need to buy different sensors for them I haven't got the foggiest idea with wiring so I have got an auto electrician coming to do the whole car but I don't think he know to much about what I want to use and he's £200 a day labour so I want to get as much info for him as poss before he comes round did you find it difficult to set your preferred settings on the dash

The setting up of the dash is pretty easy, the hardest bit I found was calibrating the fuel but you're OK on that front.

Do you have the S60 wiring details? If so have a look through and you should see that pin one = oil pressure for instance so have a look at the connector in the car and see if that ones wired; by checking all the pin outs in the instructions against the ones in your car you'll be able see what sensors have been wired.

I have a Volvo engined mini so cant tell you what outputs your engine can do without requiring extra sensors.

If you don't have the manual they're all on their website.
