Don't forget that officially the Clubman replaced the Elf and Hornet as the top-end model within the range. BL did consider making a car with a Clubman front and long boot (as mentioned above) and then also mocked up a version in which the Clubman was to be a hatchback (with the regular roundnose car keeping the boot we all know).

There's an official round nose elf model too isn't there?
Leyland South Africa did it. It was called the Mini Mk3 (Mk3 being the model name). Here's mine :
