Dreaded Head Gasket.

Unleaded head ordered, aiming to sort it all Friday. Cheers for everybody's input.

I saw 0 psi once. Headgasket  had a massive blow between two cylinders.

Gasket replaced and running fine. Small mix up with the cylinder head (I was sent a 1275 not a 998) Intending to swap heads as soon as possible after the correct one arrives!

use 5amp fuse wire 50mm long and use a smear of hylomar blue on block face in between bores then place fuse wire on this then new head gasket then the head which the face must be cleaned with thinners then torgue it up

Really? how does the fuse wire help?

Are you saying you've just put the 1275 head on a 998?

Are you saying you've just put the 1275 head on a 998?

No buddy, I can't even imagine what damage that would cause! I ordered a 998 head, I was sent a 1275, after realising, I contacted the seller and the correct head is due tomorrow I believe and will be swapped with the original as soon as possible. It currently has the original head with a new gasket on.

Really? how does the fuse wire help?

Thanks for the link to the video - I've learnt something today.  Janspeed look like they are using some form of glue to hold the wire in place.  Truly amazed at usimg fuse wire!

Similar has been done in the past to isolate water ways on blocks where the deck surface wasnt at the best conditions, but using sawing wire instead of fuse wire.
