OK, I've had this Mini Hustler 6 for 3 years now and would really like to complete it for the 2016 season....

Who else has one or even knows of one???

I'm not far off completion, just need to wire up the dash, mainly non Mini !

The plan then is to send it off to Mini Sport to go on the rolling road to be set-up, I have a 1275cc with a HiF 38, LCB with single RC 40......

Absolutely gorgeous.

I can just imagine the look on my two young sons' faces as we prepare to set off in this for our next adventure.......

Always wanted one of those. It's one of the cars that sticks in my memory when going around shows with my dad.

Good luck with it

OK, we are road legal !!

Took a bit of extra work on the brakes, as the MOT man insisted that all 6 axles/wheels were braked, I only set-up 4 !!!

Plus we had a number missing from the VIN plate and nobody noticed it , apart from the MOT man !

I love it :-)

It's very different and would make a great vehicle to sell stuff from at car events, but I will not be doing that so it's open to offers. I have another project in mind .......

I have often thought about owning one of these but they must be quite rare now. Look after it well!

There is an interesting problem to solve. If you are plumbing in all 6 brakes, you will need a larger diameter master cylinder, which will in turn require more pedal force. I don't know what braking system you have at the moment, but it may be time to think about a servo. Not sure about which brake limiting valve would be correct for the rears, maybe using the smallest slave cylinders, 0.5 inch, could be a good place to start. It might be advisable to find out what other Hustler owners, or for that matter, 6 wheel Scamp owners, have done. There is at least a Scamp owners club. This also affects 6 wheel Limos and similar conversions, and is somewhat challenging. If you get the brakes working properly on all 6 wheels, i.e. with plenty of rear braking but no wheel locking, please do let us know what you did, as it may be helpful to others.

I've been following your input for a while now, Purely because of an interest In the Hustler 6 which  I've had for decades now, mainly due to the fact I lost out on buying one 20 odd years ago. Here's a couple I've clocked over the years at various show. The Wooden one I don't know if it was just skinned in wood or if it was a full solid body. But the workmanship was superb. Even the little one in the back was full Radio Controlled .The red one I didn't see off the Lorry, I've never seen any of them again ever. But, some of the meetings now are huge and it's easy to miss things.

Ps, Kit  Cars Forever !!! .The Green Jalopy is my Minus

Regards

Peter.

Hi, good pics. If you're OK with this I'd like to add them to the 100 plus Hustler pics I've pinned in Pinterest under Wm Towns Hustler page

I rescued a 71 Hustler 6 in Wood from a coach house in Lancashire earlier this year and plan to have completed the road readiness by the spring. When that's done I was minded to gather all existing owners digitally for information exchange etc

Nice pics. I have a Hustler 6 in Wood rescued earlier this year from a quarter century storage in a coach house 'oop north. (I live as far south as possible before going into the sea) Any way, my research suggests that there are 3 (possibly 4) Hustler 6's in Wood, your pic showing one of them The other one pictured is steel and GRP. There are a few of these still about. I suspect that there are several Hustler 4's in Wood but have identified few yet.
