Morning all,

Whilst I understand the need to have reliable members posting for sale items. I don't understand why members have to make 150 posts or join TMF plus before they can post a wanted ad?

It's just strange that someone posted a wanted last week in Mini Chat and specifically said they knew they couldn't post in the wanted section yet. Their thread has been locked and the comment left in it gives the impression that it's a case of "pay £5 or get on eBay mate".

I understand the need to protect buyers, but sellers?

have a section for wanted that does not need TMF membership or x posts opens it all up to any and everyone.  no need to post your stuff for sale just wait till someone posts a wanted the scam the crap out of them.

I agree with the current policy.

Unfortunatley rules are rules. Individuals will try and circumnavigate these rules by putting things like " it wont let me post in the for sale / wanted section", which doesnt make it right , and isnt fair on all the other members who abide by the rules, contributing to the forum either financially or in some form of dialogue. Its always nice to give something back from time to time, and at the end of the day the rules are there to protect people, of course "the team " as a whole are happy to discuss.

If someone sticks around long enough to make 150 posts chances are they aren't a fly by night type scammer, if they join up to tmf + then we have some trace of who they are and would a scammer pay a fiver anyway? It's all about protecting the whole community on here and on a different tack, why shouldn't people contribute before they start selling? Do we really wants loads of people on who use it as a free alternative to eBay?

it's all about giving something back to the forum and not just joining to get something for nothing

I understand the points that are made yeah. I've been in the position before where I've joined a forum for the sole reason of looking for bits.

If all sellers had to be registered then there isn't as big a need for all wanted posts to be registered. I'm not expecting a change, just that the comment I was reading just came across as rude.

I can't remember what it says when you try and post in the wanted section without 150 posts or TMF+, however, if you go to the section the rules are clear at the top.

Trying to get around that by posting in another section is a blatant disregard of the rules

Spamming the forum and ignoring the selling rules that are there for people's protection is far ruder in my opinion.
