Hi All,

Already introduced myself in the Newbie section. I have recently bought a 1994 Jap import in need of some paintwork. The car was still on its original paint and although no rust anywhere the paint was flat and patchy in places.

Just got the car back from the paint shop after it being in there for a month getting some love. Enjoy the pictures. :-)

Looks tidy. Bet it was a relief not to find any rust.

Yes it was. I had a good feeling though as the floors etc... have never been welded etc and I could tell the wings and door were all original.

Being Uber critical - the boot lid fit looks suspect?

No I agree with you. I bought a new bonnet and boot lid. The bonnet was an original heritage part but I opted for the cheaper boot lid and its 2mm smaller all round. I'm thinking about buying a heritage one but they are very expensive. :-(

Lovely min.

Don't know if you're upto speed on the tech. but I'd love to know what arches they are, and if they would accept chrome trip ( there seems to be a lip to accept this.?)

cheers

The car was advertised as having "Euro Arches" but unsure what ones exactly but yes they have the lip. In fact they have small holes drilled in them which I presume were to screw on the chrome trim. I was going to get the holes filled when it was painted but thought it looked more original with them still there.

I'd like to see what the car looked like with the trim on. Something for the future maybe. :-)

Nice looking car and yes as mentioned shame about the boot lid. There have quite a few comments on the forum recently about replacement bonnet poof gapping / fitting etc and looking at those gaps it highlights gapping issues with the boot lid.

If I was you live with the car for the moment, save up and get a decent OE boot lid or Heritage. Second hand boot lids are not expensive and if push comes to shove you can get them reskinned.
