Took my mini to be checked over today to be approved for an engine modification. All was good, the only comment he had was about the "scrub radius" of the wheels. I hadn't even considered that.

I do have a really high negative offset on the wheels.

The set up:

10X6 wheels with a -15 offset

7.5 cooper s discs

Is it an issue?

Did they say whether the scrub radius was positive or negative and how much (in mm) it was?
Or was it just an observation?
Positive scrub radius makes car feel more stable under braking and acceleration.
How does your mini handle, when accelerating, steady state and braking? If it handles ok then don't worry.
Having the correct wheel alignments are more important. Toe out at front, toe in at rear, front caster angle.

Have a read https://en.m.wikiped...ki/Scrub_radius

But as above the devil is in the detail. What was exactly said?

The scrub radius on a Mini is only ever completely right when running 3.5" x 10" wheels at standard offset datum. Even the standard 4.5" wheels do slightly alter it although it is slight.

Was just his initial observation, The wheels do stick out a fair bit from the body and the deep dish makes it look more (i guess).

Mini handles great.

wheel alignment should be spot on.

As above Nick! Just his initial observation. The wheel was on full lock also, so maybe made it look more than it is.
