Yes it looks that way, there is or was a mini trader/breaker in the area that some people felt was questionable too.....

The midlands as a whole is a hotspot at the moment. I wouldn't want to keep one on the road or a drive at the moment. Not good times.

Unfortunately, the country is a hot spot at the moment.

In order to steal many modern cars you need to obtain the keys these days (probably in a burglary) This means that vehicles which can be stolen without (minis and transit vans) where parts can easily be sold on become worth stealing.

Since this happened I have added extra garage door bolts, fitted the extra security devices that we use when out and about, put the alarm/ immob on and locked the car inside the garage! When my wife uses the car for work it is fairly visible during the day which could leave her open to being followed home to see where it lives which is my main worry really. I might put some gates on my drive at some point.

I've put extra bolts on my garage door too - this is since a mate of mine in Leicester had his 2 classic scooters stolen from his garage just a couple of weeks back.  Wouldn't be so bad but he is ex Army as well and didn't hear a thing!

Its worth blocking your Mini in at night, maybe if you have two cars, put the Mini in front of the other maybe? This is more piece of mind, but a doubt a burglar will go to the trouble of removing the car in front just to take the mini, and by that point you'd probably have heard them.

It has been known in this area that scumbags have moved a car in front of a garage to steel the car in the garage, if someone is really determined to get your car, they will, all we can do is take as many precautions as possible, I have reinforced the bottom of my garage door so it can't be bent upwards to gain access to open the door from the inside, also a high security padlock fitted to a heavy duty hasp & staple secured with 6" bolts into the concrete floor of the garage.

Wow, fair enough mate. My garage is locked behind a gate and a modern 2-car garage door, but you can never be too sure can

you?
