Ok, so I have Mini Mayfair and I love it to bits. It's de-seemed with a nice paint job, it's just a bit... slow... I have a VTEC Mini as well (for sale, by the way...) and this has led me to want a seriously quick Mini. I don't want my interior ripped out (great retro red and black) or a roll cage. I want someone who can just plonk a powerful Japanese engine in the back and send me on my way. I realise I'll have to lose my rear seats (massive shame!), but I don't see why much else would have to change.

I'm far from a Mini expert or fanatic, so I need some advice. Are Z-Cars my best option? Are there alternatives? If you have an idea for prices, that would be much appreciated as well.

Cheers!

Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of more Z-Cars info, it would be much appreciated. They don't seem to have a website?! I think they have a Facebook page, but I don't...

Recently went bust I think, but im sure someone was looking to buy the stuff to revive it again.

Only company I know who do drive in/drive out conversions are Watsons of wakefield. Not sure they do jap stuff though, but maybe they can or will if the price is right.

I think at the min your opinions would be very limited as z cars went under and pro motive only make a few kits a year now

I guess it doesn't have to be Japanese - just reliable...

Mike zcars will be back by end of April so you might want to stick around for their new kits incorporating vw 2.0 tfsi engines or 3 cycl ford eco engine. Of course big power will likely come from Tfsi version.
The other option is to buy one premade which should work out cheaper. An ebay search for zcars mini brings a couple of cars for sale now.

Please, give me the add number for the Zcars on eBay. Can't find them....
