It is good news to hear we are not going to lose this show, I have been going for a number of years and want to continue, good luck and if it's moving please make sure we all hear about it and please not just on FB . Glad I didn't book a caravan for next year before I left this year.

Hello, as a CMC member and one of the organisers of the event I haven't commented so far as I have just watched how this thread has unfolded but I think it's time I said something.

Members of the club work very hard to put this show on and it takes months to prepare with very little input from Newquay view. Yes I agree that over the last few years the show has been getting smaller and this is not through the clubs doing but through lack of interest on Newquay views part. Since the site was taken over by Peter bull resorts the parks future has changed and although they like the idea of the show and making money they don't have a clue and are not really that interested in it and so it is largely left to the club to sort out. As it has already been said it is very difficult to attract traders to the show because of where the show is situated in the country and it is easier to go online and buy your products that you want and then you don't have to transport them home and so no one was buying anything from the traders. Unfortunately the weather we can do nothing about and the move to the field is down to the site as they use the car park for caravan sales.

As a club the last thing we want is for riv run to stop happening and so that is why we have made the decision to look to move away from the site and try and re invigorate it elsewhere. We did look into other sites in Newquay but there wasn't anything suitable for the show. As it has been mentioned already Pentewan sands is the site at the moment we have in mind but we are still finalising certain aspects. It is amazing site and has a lot more facilities than Newquay view for the whole family. The manager of the site is really keen for us to hold it there and is really enthusiastic towards new things for the show. But please bare with us, as soon as we have any further information we will let you know.

As Ellie has said we are listening to what you want at the show to bring it back to its former glory and try to make it better than it has been, so please keep your constructive critisisms coming along with anything new you would like to see.

A lot of issues raised have been put down to as 'that was due to Newquay view' or 'Newquay view did that'. Yet you are saying Newquay view had limited involvement!

 

Not sure which one it is but I'm sure you have lots to be working on for next year, but I doubt we will be making00 mile round trip again.

how about moving the show up closer to the devon boarder to make it easier to get to

 

I have never done the riv run it's one of the shows I want to do maybe next year

 

I think it's very easy to put a club down for things going wrong but an less you have tried to set a show up you have no idea

what goes into it

 

the entertainment was bad as you have said well that is down to the site ,also parking in a wet field that's down to the site

 

no traders were there ,you don't need traders to make a good show

 

I hope you can sort out the problems you had this year and come back next year with a better show

Caravans at the site are booking up fast so go to the website and click the link through to Pentewan Sands if you want to book a caravan as prices start from about £60 per static caravan per night and you can sleep 6 people per caravan so that works out to be just over £10 per person per night!

Or day visitors to the site will be charged just £5 per car this year for each day entrance to the site/show which is a massive reduction in price as you can fill the car and everyone in the car can get in for just £5
