I've got a metal folder that's (probably) wide enough, but for all the cost of the panel, I'm going down the same route ;)

Had some non Mini stuff to do in the garage today which took up a lot of time. Had to replace my bench top.
That done, I attacked the door frame.
I clamped the repair panel over the existing metal(!) to get and idea of where and what to cut.
I then cut trimmed the curved bits from the side of the repair panel that I didn't need, cut the door and tacked in the repair panel
I also cleaned up the remaining welds from the old skin, and offered up the new skin to check the repair. All good.
I'll finish the pulse/stitch welding next time. The repair panel is a bit close to the door in a few sections, so will attack those with the Dremel before welding it up. Also a bit far on one side. Measure once, cut once! I'll get it filled in with weld.
I probably won't skin the door now, as I won't need it for a while and it's easier to keep the skin safe on its own rather than attached to an unwieldy door!
The panels I need to get back to the main body were due on Monday coming, but I put it off til Thursday when I'm in to accept the package. So after finishing (and linishing) the door repair welding, it'll go to one side until the next time I stall on the body :)
