Hi all,

Would someone be able to take these measurements for me ? As shown in this pic. I have removed the scuttle and top dash rail and repaired the top of the bulkhead metal.

I would like the measurements form the points of the red arrows, not the opening edge but the part where the outer lip of the rubber rests against.

I didn't take any measurements before removing :-(

Thanks

Pete

Could someone also measure the distance between the 2 inner dash rails ? where the ends are welded to the A pillar.

Thanks

Pete

Pete the important measurement is the actual aperture as this will dictate the fitting of the windscreen.

I can do the two rail measurements tomorrow.

The thing is, if you look closely to the left of the middle red line, you will notice the metal is a different height to the right part of the scuttle, there is a little kick up that makes the apperture smaller.

This is why I need the measurements red point to red point

I'm currently sorting out the scuttle on my car and the Heritage panel is fighting me a bit. Luckily enough i have kept the majority of the old one to use for positioning. I will compare the pressings on the Heritage panel against my old original. The radiuses in the corner appear to be slightly larger than the original scuttle but nothing a light trim will not fix. There is no saying that the position you have arrowed on the new scuttle will be correct as like many things the presses and forms that they use are wearing with age.

Right i had a close look at my new scuttle compared to the old one and there is a difference of 2mm running from left to right and its the flange not anything else. i have trimmed that amount off to even it up from side to side.

However the measurements you asked for are as follows.

Thanks for that.

So, we have the same scuttle :-) I will grind mine down too this weekend.

The measurements you took, all at 44cm, are they from the roof gutter to the black felt tip line on the scuttle ?

What are the measurements on the roof ?

And I don't really understand the inner rail measurements. 114.5 and 120.5 ? Are these between the 2 rails ???

I need the distance between the 2 rails (difficult because it's round) so that once it's welded to the bulkhead, i can get the angle correct and weld it to the A pillars and end up with the correct hole size so that my wooden dash fits correctly.

The other measurements on the roof are for the window aperture with the scuttle fitted.

The two measurements you asked for on the dash rails are the width of them between the A post and bottom of the A pillar. All in cm's.

44 cm is the measurement as per your requirements on the picture you post with the arrows. The marks were just a positioning mark nothing more.

Looking at that pic, i might be able to copy the angle of the ends of the dash rail.

OK,

this is what I need between the inner rails

Is it just the distance between the two height wise or the rail and the supporting structure behind the rail??

Right i have just measured my sons car and the distance from the the under side of the top rail to the top of the lower rail right at the A post is 150 mm. Directly in the centre of the car it is 195mm

I'm doing the same thing. Top of bulkhead was shot which is a fiddly thing to repair !

Could anyone possible offer me 2 measurements fitting the dash top rail.

I need the inside edge of the lip of the dash top rail to the inside edge of the top of the windscreen frame i.e. The opening. I think I'm set at 413 mm or so. Which could tie in with the 440mm suggested with scuttle fitted measuring from inside of the frame flange.

Second I need how far the top dash rail is away from the door frame lip on the door upright. Just so I know the rubber seal will fit !

Hope someone can help cheers Jon

Hi,

This is how I did mine, again, thanks to Neil for his measurements.

I removed the front scuttle, inner rail and chopped off the rusty top of the bulkhead.

I repaired the top of bulkhead with new sheet steel but cut it big, so that it was too high.

I welded in the new scuttle using Neils measuerments and trial fitting the bonnet to get the bulge and shape in line with the bonnet shape.

I cut back the bulkhead steel that was too high, back to the height of the new scuttle panel.

I then welded in the top rail to the bulkhead, using Neils measurements again and using the old weld marks that were left when I removed the old top rail so that I could get the angle correct.

Don't worry about the door rubber not fitting, the rail goes as far to the windscreen surround as possible.

Pete
