Ok, so I own a Mini Mayfair which I love. However, it's a bit slow, so I've been thinking about buying a Z-Cars Mini for the weekend (the Mayfair is my daily drive).

So here I am in need of some advice. What do people think are the best conversions and how much should I be looking at spending?

I have been having a look around and seen one with a Honda K20a engine (I think these are around 200hp), but I think the asking price is a bit much compared to others I've seen. If someone could offer any advice on how well they home their value, that'd be great as well.

Also, what is people's preference? Bike or car engines?

I'm sure I'll have more questions people respond.

Many thanks in advance!

Ive got a nice one I'm thinking of selling at the moment,

Supercharged too !!!

The honda engined ones are for more road going and bike for track aimed ( in my eyes)

Value all depends on what a person values it at.

Most people have spent upwards of £20,000

with mine more like £30,000 :(

Im only based in rugby if you want to come and have a chat regardless of whether you want to buy the car

Ive got my second baby on the way and the pressure is pilling on me to buy a bigger house

Value is the only drawback I have seen with Zcars, at the end of the day its a mini and that will hurt resale.  I am happy I bought mine second hand, I got a pretty good deal.  Although it would have been fun to build, I got mine in great working order with all of the niggles worked out.

i have a z cars type r mini, with a supercharger kit on

completely finished car, resprayed etc

I think its finished to a really high standard but you can decide that your self

Quite a subtle looking car aswell

Just had it all aligned etc and rolling road

Makes 300 at the wheels so 330ish at the crank

I agree with Jimmorris.  Honda R can be easily driven, bike engines faster, lighter but nosier, and hotter, as exhaust is behind drivers seat, Honda exhaust is facing boot.

Most spend around £30k, someone who has had it years, will no its faults and will have ironed them out. I spent £22k to a good standard, had for 5 years, now in bits as back end is to weak, and cracks form. Now made stronger,  with 3mm plate in floor and 5" x "2 box section cills, new panels, respray, new toys. I will be over £30k with lots of carbon fiber bits. Its always easier and cheaper to buy one already done. There is nothing like them. a real supercar,  You pay for what you get, and how well it has been made! that is why, prices vary so much!!!

The k20 has a lot of tuning parts on the market

Turbo, supercharger kits to make it quicker than the hayabusa but as its Japanese the tuning parts are not cheap.
