How do you do it? Would like to know what boost is with an m45 eaton charger with 17% & 19% reduced pulley.

I assume, due to the lack of response its not an easy one to calculate. Presumably people that quote their psi without a gauge are talking a load of twoddle.

I'm not sure on this, I would have assumed there is more work on this been done by the BMW Mini guys. But that's 16V not 8V heads.

This is the only thing I can find on this forum, not sure how accurate it is.

As it's a positive displacement supercharger it will depend on engine cc not just pulley size. The calculator linked above certainly looks useful.

Phil.

BOOST CALCULATOR

You read my mind. Can't open the link though, well it does open but the content doesn't load. Your CR calculator did the same thing before.

Out of interest, presumably the bigger the engine and the more volume it can intake the lower the boost pressure would be and there would be less of a pressure build up?

Jon,That boost calculator is great. was trying to do it on my tablet, but now realise it works on my laptop. Out of interest what's the difference between a SW5 - 07 and a SW5 cam? I thought they were the same.

Playing around with the inputs on the calculator, is the better the cam (letting more air flow in,) the lower the boost?

The difference in the cam specs were measured by AC Dodd and can be found here:

http://www.theminifo...identification/

The calculator factors in a a 5% reduction in boost for every 10 degrees of camshaft overlap. So yes, as a general rule hotter cams run a slightly lower final boost figure.

With a standard supercharger pulley, 1380 engine  we're seeing 11psi
