Ok guys. Time te be serious.... I need help....

As most of you know I live in Holland. We have a thing called the RDW. They control your papers according your car. So now I went there to change the amount of cc's of the car. It's no 1000cc anymore.....
But after seeing the car they are giving me a hard time.

They want me to hand them constructional drawings and calculations for both of the frames (front and back) and if possible some kind of official road testing of a Zcars mini. They state that the suspensoin points have changed..... So therefor the handling has changed, they claim....

Cause if the papers don't match they can confiscate the car and that's not what I want offcourse.

So if any of you have some papers regarding the frames and has lots of numers on it Please send it to me. The more info the better.

Many many thanks!

Z Cars have always been very tight lipped when it came to any detailed dimensions and construction of there frames, I don't believe there is anything official out there. I suppose the first thing I would do is contact the new owners but as a recent post has pointed out even they are struggling getting all the information together.

I would personally measure what you have and draw it in CAD, there are free versions of CAD out there and simple 2D line drawings are easy ish to pick up fairly quickly.

As for official road tests I don't know of any, but there have been road tested many times by the various mini magazines over the years

Could you employ an engineer to produce a report?

Other people must modify their cars too. What do they do when they need to produce this kind of information?

A standard vehicle complies with national vehicle type approval and has homologation paperwork that demonstrates compliance. It seems that since you have a none standard vehicle then you are being asked to supply the necessary engineering data applicable to the modifications to allow individual type approval. See https://www.rdw.nl/s...as/default.aspx
Good luck

Individual type approval in the NL is horrible to obtain. The regulations are very tight and nearly impossible to adhere to. In the kitcar world in the Netherlands most people choose to go for a UK IVA, then import the car back into the Netherlands but that doesn't come cheap as you will have to pay CO2 and import tax based on age and emission reports which dont exist for your car which will make it go up to the most expensive tier possible. There are specialists who can help you do this and manage the complete process for you. I would advise to check with www.kitcarcollection.com

Best of luck!

Since no one has a drawing or calculations of the Zcars frames I'll ask a different question....

Has anyone put their mini up for IVA? Or something similar...

If yes, that rapport can be very usefull to me. A simple copy can help me a lot...

Please let me know. Damn laws here.....

Thanks

René

There is a topic pinned under the Technical section of the Z Cars forum which goes through the process of passing an IVA in a mini

I would put a link to it but as soon as I try to paste a link I start writing backwards!
