Yes FS I agree with you that doing it properly is the better way to do things

I should like to grab one of those diagnostic tools myself as I seem to be holding on to

my Spi minis and enjoy them very much

I have been away for a week and I apologize if this was addressed earlier...it appears that there is some "creative" rewiring in the engine bay.

I would try to make sure this is cleaned up. I have seen cars where portions of the loom were not secured where they are supposed to be and abrasion has exposed wiring which can lead to additional corrosion. Are your grounds good and without corrosion?

They appear to be, tried removing and re-adding, I have taken a slightly extreme route...

I have another injector which I can now swap and try that out... but it also came with all of the sensors... and as a just in case I also got a whole wiring loom since this was pretty bad anyway :) will give that a try

You haven't thrown the towel in yet

but this has been quite a pain

interesting to see what the real issue / issues are

We have life!

Bad news is we also have a weird lambda reading... 1.8v and its doesnt seem to be fluctuation much!

I'm guessing this could be a manifold leak? Anything else worth checking?

Not wanting to throw you off in a wrong direction as I am far from knowledgeable

how long ago was your fuel filter changed - the tin can looking thing under the boot left hand side

and again

what sort of condition is the bottom of your petrol tank in - could be full of crud

also I assume you are using high octane petrol (I don't know what that is in England)

there are so many components in a system and one or many could be found fawlty ;)

Passed, but only just!

It seemed to be a combination of things, lambda or CTS (changed at same time) made it run better but not right.

I have a new cat for the car, which I will fit later this year whilst checking exhaust (slight leak) on MOT

Thanks again for all those that suggested different things
