Hi all, just got hold of a 1999 Mini Cooper. Grinning from ear ear ear. It's has MOT till Sept 16. My son is nearly 14 and we are tidying it up over 3 years for him. Not really sure where to start, all thoughts appreciated. We are both learning. Grinning loads

Welcome Shunie and Son!
I'm doing something very similar with my lad and IMO it's a priceless experience!
We bought a '79 Mini last year and are planning to have it on the road by the time he's 17 too.
We're doing a full restoration and it is brilliant to see how his knowledge and ability has developed over the months.
You will have lots of frustrating times I'm sure but many more enjoyable and satisfying ones.
This forum is a brilliant resource too!

Nice to meet you all. Wish u were closer , then we could ll have a beer together, and talk mini. Still no idea where to start , by thinking of the Haynes manual mot checks. Or into a garage for them to tell me what is wrong. Gonna start on it tomorrow. Any thoughts?

MOT checks are a good place to start together with a basic service - oil, filter, plugs, points, pads & shoes check, tappets.
The more you do the more you'll learn - just take it one (little!) step at a time.

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions here!

Yours is a sportspack, so there's only one type for it.

If you mean dry or wet, wet is for hydrolastic and the last Minis to have that were in the early 70's.
