If you have a choice I'd go for a Jap one over a UK one.

They are usually rust free as they are (zinc dipped?) when manufactured.

Air cons better too I believe.

Ps if you need a new hood for it when you get one let me know as I have a new one that I'm selling 😉

I've fancied one of these lately. Never been or driven one, but they look like awesome fun. Pretty cheap too

Most Jap Eunos models had a LSD so great fun but a little snappy when it kicks in. Loads of opposite lock steering and power slides...well kind of power ;)

Plenty of grunt in second gear and then it all goes away but good fun anyway.

Suspension needs sorting with gas adjustable shocks and a strut brace to get anywhere near mini handling.

Watch for sticking calipers and rust to the rear of the sill and wheel arch.

There is a good club forum and cheap parts too not that you would need many.

Great cars, shared one with my sister for 12 years and sold it early this year for £1500 with no rot in green.

You can pick one up in the winter from £200-£600. I was offered a mk2 1.8 with a hardtop, 6 months MOT and a new caliper for £200 recently. Bargain auto test car if I had the time and space for it.
