Hi Guys,

 

I bought a set of copper reverse rims for my mini in Old english white from John Brown wheels.

When they came they weren't the cream colour but a bright white. The OEW looks so much better. Whats the deal. Is this normal that companies advertise as OEW but its actually not? Anyone had this before?

 

Should JBW replace them for me?

They are obliged to replace or refund if they're not as described.

I purchased a few from Minisport a while back but I would imagine they all come from the same manufacturer.

I ended up with three different shades and only one out of twelve wheels was actually running true, one was 6mm out of true !!!!!

I spun them up on a hub rather than a balancer and Minisport kept replacing them until I ended up with the best but not perfect lot.

 

I would advise you to fit each rim to a hub and give them a spin. Use bits of yogurt pot as washers so you don`t damage the finish.

If all is well you can etch prime and and spray the wheels in the shade you want as the factory finish is not durable and you will be doing it again anyway.
