Hi all,

The vinyl covering on my elf's dash rails has over the years shrunk back leaving unsightly creases in it. I have peeled it all off and it looks like it will stick back ok with the creases stretched out.

My question is, what is the best adhesive to use? Does ordinary contact adhesive soften in the heat of the car resulting in the same problem i started with.

I would like the keep the original vinyl if i can but if it means it just reverts back to its original form in time, is it best to replace it?

many thanks

You should be okay using the original as long as you use heat resistant glue otherwise the glue will soften up in the sun

Can't guarantee the results but it claims to be what you need. There was a Dunlop spray adhesive a while back which was very good but I am not sure about its resistance to heat, or if it still exists.
