The other day my indicator stalk end flew off as I was driving. The spring shorted out the horn connections and caused the horn to sound repeatedly until I pulled over and removed it. Since then the horn hasn't worked. I have checked all the fuses and they seem to be fine so what else should I check? Is there a relay in the horn circuit?

Also, can someone let me know what type of bulb I need to replace the dead one in my clock? I have a 1996 Rover SPi with a single central guage - a simple black clock. I've included a photo.

I know this has been asked in many ways -  I have searched but I am so confused by all the different options that I just can't work it out. I hoped I could find out by removing the old bulb but it wouldn't come out without getting completely destroyed and I can't see any details on the mangled remains!

Have you got a multimeter?

If so, check and see if you have power to the horn when the button is pressed.

You don't actually need a multimeter for this, a simple test light would do the job perfectly

No, there's nothing getting to the horn with the button is pressed. What should I check next?

That's what I was wondering about. But the engine just completely died, so the horn problem has taken a back seat! Car is in the garage now...
