Not many daily driver classic Mini's these days due to rust, theft and high values as classic cars, so a rare sight on the roads in UK.

It's not just classic Minis which are becoming rarer on the roads. You rarely see any real classics. When did you see a Mk.1 Cortina, or an air-cooled VW Beetle, or anything else from the 1960's?

I saw a Karmann Ghia pull into the work car park the other day. Beautiful car, even though it sounds like a washing machine with a knackered bearing. Such a refreshing change to the usual Fiestas, Binis and Mondeos.

I live in a semi rural area and we have quite a few old cars in regular use around here, I see a few 60s sports cars when the weather is ok, land rovers from the 1950s up to 2016 are common place, capris, moggies, beetles and campers etc can be seen in a normal week.

I was driving to edinburgh airport yesterday and saw a nice purple equinox - really makes me want to get my finger out and get my 30 back on the road (was being driven by a VERY pretty girl too! But that's probably inappropriate!)

Today I was on the A43 and saw a Jensen Interceptor and on the way home on the same road I found myself alongside a 1965 E-Type 4.2.

I saw an air cooled VW Beetle yesterday, with a young lad driving.

It really made me smile thinking that was probably his first car

I was on a lot of B and A roads too, hardly any motorways, didn't see much of anything classic.
