How To Remove The Shifter Boot?

Best Answer Jordie , 19 August 2016 - 10:36 AM

Lift the carpet and you should see the bottom of the gaiter.

There is a metal plate with 4 screws going through it. remove screws and plate. remove gearknob and slide gaiter up and off.

Hi guys,

I have recently got new seats and dyed the cream on the steering wheel to get a full black and blue theme for my mini. The next thing i need to dye is the gear shifter boot which is currently cream and so will require 2-4 coats to get it to black. Is there an easy way to remove it so i can dye it out of the car or will I have to do it in the car?

Thanks!

Alex
