That's fantastic, in a stock looking shell too. I am not a fan of deseaming a mini but in this case it may help get a few more mph?

Mega achievement, but 330 BHP to get a mini to 166 MPH.........really?  I know the mini isn't super aerodynamic, but with that much power wouldn't you expect a bit more with the correct gearing.

why?

the power needed is not a linear function.

Quite aware of that, just seems a lot of power required when some aero tweaks would help instead (as mentioned above).

I have seen this car. There are a few aero tweaks such as sticker badges, blanked off bits and pieces, but in large quite standard looking.

sounds about right to me,

a while back somone calculated speed vs hp for a mini ( graph below)  srtacks up pretty well with their results

So up to 120mph its fairly linear and after that it starts to curve more (ish).  Honestly wouldn't have thought that you would need that much power to go that fast. Suppose frontal area and aero would have a huge factor also on the top speed....but if the record is for a stock body then maybe the seams and height of roof have to remain the same.

when restoring my 67 mini (fairly seriously souped up 1293cc) I drove it for a few weeks with no front or rear windscreens fitted. It was noticeably quicker. Sunglasses were mandatory
