One owner 8000 miles from new and no rust !!
Bit of a time warp car as it had been sitting on a drive for 17 years 😳
It had been serviced and MOT'd every year until last year when it wouldn't start
Turned out to be the fuel pump which I replaced and it starts on the button
Needed a dam good clean
Before
After
Needs a set of window rubbers and an MOT
No rusty arches or anything
Wish my mini would have been in such good nick 😂
No idea what we're going to do with it at the moment just going to enjoy not having to do any welding 😆
It dose need the tail gate re painting as the sun has peeled the lacquer in a couple of places but apart from that everything works
Think we may take it to POL next year and maybe a couple of other shows but apart from that just going to enjoy it
Never thought I'd say that about a rover metro 😆

Cleaned up the headlining
Then it was time to deal with the crusty windscreen seal
Started by peeling back the lip
Less than 5 mins later it was out
No rust lurking
Fitted the new rubber with the aid of a bit of car soap and nylon spoon
Had some string knocking about so I used that , not ideal as it snapped twice
The last corner was a pig but got it sorted eventually ( harder than a mini screen ! )
All done 😃
Sorted out the head lamp to bonnet seal common on these
Dropped off the front bumper no nasty rot hiding
Back together

Removed the rear wheel arch carpets and injected wax into every nook and cranny I could get it into
I used bit-hamber dynax cavity wax as its top notch and I use it on my mini
Found a couple of bits left over from the factory
Moved onto the front end
Went underneath and did every hole I could find
Think I put enough in as it was dripping out of everywhere 😃
That done it was onto the wheel arches
Clear wax was used here
This bung is tucked up under the wheel arch we took it out and filled the cavity with wax
You can see the hole in this pic
Did the rest of the underneath with clear wax
The old girl should last a few more years now 😆

Took her for an MOT today and she flew through
Don't often get a car this age do that
So now it's road legal after 17 years and will be being used by my lad while he dose a bit of work on his ZS
Give us a wave if you see it about
Cheers Mark

Must admit I have never really been a fan of Metros, but this is an awesome little gem.
Thanks buddy
Had a few over the years and to be honest I never thought I'd have another
Couldn't resist this and I liked the story behind it
It was so close to being scrapped !!
Glad we saved it
