hi all. have a early mk3 inner column with the cancelling stud, unfortunley the internal splines at the bottom have worn and needs to be replaced. was just going to buy the post 85 column, drill and tap for the cancelling stud and trim the bottom of the outer column? has anyone done this conversion successfully?

Do you have the early type Mk3 steering lock fitted?
I can't remember if this works with the later inner column, others may be able to help on this point.

I might be off the mark here, but I think the later columns were longer. If I remember today, I'll check.
