Today we pulled apart the front wheel bearing on the drivers side to find that somebody previously has assembled it incorrectly;- the spacer between the taper roller bearings has been omitted, which has resulted in the bearings marking the stub shaft; they look as it they are undercut now- bizarrely the car drove fine- n noise or rumbling, we noticed play in the hub by sheer chance.

I have a new set of bearings to throw in, but they weren't supplied with a spacer.

A trawl around the interweb and I found that mini sport are out of stock for the spacers. :ohno:

Does anyone know where else I could source a pair? (I'm assuming that the passenger side spacer will be missing when I strip that as well)

ALSO!!- driveshaft stub end- is it possible to get an exchange unit from somewhere?

New CV needed. And the spacers are actually a marched part of the bearing set.

So two new CVs and two sets of Timkin wheel bearings.

As above

You need the following

Might be worth looking at your ball joints as the hubs are coming off, if they've done the bearings that badly the ball joints are probably of the same standard

Cheers Gents, initial inspection shows ball joints to both be in good order on the OS, I think I had stripped that previously during the refurb work. I thought the grease holes were blocked- but it seems like my grease gun nozzle is rubbish instead.

FYI, the spacers are not available as separate part, they are match to each and every bearing assembly. Noted that Swiftune do sell spacers on their own, but the ones I've measured are oversized presumably so they can be ground to the same as removed from the actual kit that's intended to be fitted.

also, if the cv shaft is goosed you can pretty much bank of the drive flange being knackered too.
