There does seem to be some contradictory advice here and some is not helpful.
The OO admits to not being very experienced with Minis.
He said that the back is sitting a lot higher than the front. Now the back didn't just grow in height so the logic is that the front has dropped with time.
Therefore the degradation of the front is what we should be advising, as some have advised.
New knuckle joints and cups might sort it, or it may need new spring cones. Only detailed inspection will determine this.
From there, if new cones are needed we can advise the OP how to do the job.
The rear may well be fine as it is.
You can't correct a fault with the front suspension by cutting bits off of the rear trumpets.
